Culture

As a Zagreb settlement of recent history, Jarun and Vrbani do not abound in cultural sights such as the Lower and Upper Towns. The culture of these neighborhoods is contemporary and is based on sports, entertainment, and recreation. Jarun is also a venue for many events, especially during the summer. INmusic, OFFTIME, and #WELOVESOUND are just some of the festivals that bring the biggest stars of the world music scene to Jarun every year. Apart from the festival on Jarun, you can also enjoy other rich content such as a summer open-air cinema, various sports competitions, concerts and the like.

Gastronomy

Apart from sports and recreation, the Jarun shores are known for the murmur from some of the most beautiful cafes and restaurants in Zagreb, which turn into a hot dance floor in the evening. Naturally, we would single out the beautiful elite club Gallery of the clubs, while not far from it is the legendary Aquarius. Jarun restaurants Lido and Helena will always offer you freshly prepared and delicious food in a pleasant ambiance. At the same time, Vrbani hides the charming bistro Alegri and excellent restaurants Umami and Spizzu. If you are more of a person who likes to spend the day outdoors in the company of friends and family, Jarun offers a range of canopies with a seating area and arranged barbecue areas.

Sport and nature

The Jarun recreational sports center is often associated with rowing on a regatta track 2250 meters long. Still, you can have fun on dry land in the greenery surrounding this water surface. Along the shores of the Great and Small Jarun Lakes, there are 2500 meters of pebble beaches connected by kilometers of hiking and biking trails where you can run, ride a bike or enjoy the fresh air on roller skates. You can also use sunny and warm days on one of the sandy volleyball courts or on the beaches of this Zagreb sea, of which as many as five beaches have been awarded the 'Blue Flag' label, which guarantees their cleanliness and equipment.
