Welcome to Đakovo, the heart of Slavonia! Đakovo is located in the central and most beautiful part of Slavonia, at 111 meters above sea level, on the Đakovo plain. Whichever side you approach the city from, the first thing you will see are two magnificent towers and the dome of the most beautiful cathedral in the area from Venice to Istanbul. There is almost no intending traveler who does not know about the cathedral of St. Petra, Bishop Strossmayer's life project. Although small, this city is a capital work of Croatian culture of the 19th century, and will offer every visitor an abundance of historical, cultural and natural values.
