The first mention of Tribunj dates back to the 15th century. The oldest church is the Pilgrimage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in Vrtle and built in 1435, and today it is occasionally used for exhibitions. Mass is celebrated only on September 8, the feast of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is protected as a cultural monument.
One of the most recognizable motifs of Tribunj is the church of St. Nikole with the associated old cemetery located on the hill of the same name within the village.
Tribunj is bordered on the south side by countless small islands and the Kornati National Park, the most diverse island group in the Mediterranean, which are an ideal destination for lovers of boat trips, while on the north side it is bordered by the Krka National Park - widely known for its waterfalls Miljacka slap, Roški slap and Skradinski buk .
Tribunj has two popular local swimming places.
The longest beach is Bristak, which is easily reached by walking along the marina to the east behind the breakwater of St. Nicholas. Its gravelly shallows entice bathers, and especially delight the youngest. The offer of the beach is completed by local restaurateurs where you can find refreshments.
West of the marina, at the foot of the hill Sv. Nikole, Zamalin beach stretches, the city's favorite bathing spot. The pine forest and light mistral allow bathers a carefree all-day stay in the open air.
The backbone of the summer entertainment and cultural offer is made up of two main festivals - Fisherman's Night at the end of July, designed with the aim of promoting the Mediterranean fishing lifestyle, and the Traditional Donkey Race on the first Sunday in August, which pays tribute to that valuable and autochthonous animal that has indebted this area in history for its benefits to local residents.
An exceptional destination for living and vacationing.
