Varaždin boasts a number of museums and galleries that reflect its rich cultural heritage, such as the Varaždin City Museum, which is located within the Old Town fortress and displays artifacts related to local history. The “World of Insects” is located in the Hercer Palace and is a unique collection that displays thousands of insect specimens and aims to educate visitors about entomology. The Miljenko Stančić Gallery is dedicated to the famous local artist with a collection of significant paintings.

In addition, Varaždin hosts major annual festivals that celebrate its culture, including Špancirfest - an international street festival held in late August and early September with performances by artists and musicians, and the Baroque Music Evenings - a prestigious classical music festival held every September.
