Culture

The pages of Poreč art history can be read with pride today thanks to the stormy history that left the town valuable and indelible traces of different cultures. A multi-thousand-year walk through the city reveals with every step the different styles and cultural influences that have contributed to the shaping of today's city. The entire old town core is a living cultural monument. The backs of numerous city palaces will reveal to you the history of their construction through different stylistic and historical periods. In numerous records and literature, Poreč is called a mosaic city thanks to the culture founded with Euphrasian, the basilica in whose diocese the museum of ecclesiastical art and archaeological remains of earlier churches are located. Valuable museum collections of the Local Museum of Poreština bear witness to the tradition of living in this area for many centuries. In addition to museums, the streets of Poreč nurture numerous atelier galleries and exhibition spaces that nurture tradition in a contemporary way with their exhibits.
